ALABASTER EMPHASIS

In Matthew 26:6-13, the story of a woman anointing Jesus’ head with precious oil is told. He said of her gift, “I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”

This is the scriptural basis for a ministry that has resulted in more than 7,500 Nazarene building projects globally. Just as the woman in scripture gave up something costly for her Lord, Nazarenes do without things they want but do not need. They then donate the items’ cost equivalent to purchase mission buildings and land.

Mission Education

The process of learning about the establishment, needs, nurture and results of missions gives opportunities to develop Global Awareness in Nazarenes. Mission Education is the fiber and the substance necessary for an effective NMI. If Mission Education doesn’t happen in the local church, it doesn’t happen. Andrew Murray said, “Information is the fuel without which the fire cannot burn. Fuel is not fire...fuel is indispensable to keep it burning. An informed church will be a transformed church.”
